BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 9

Ahhh, nothing like bringing together two of my loves - Breast Cancer Awareness month and nail polish.  OPI has done a fantastic job every year making a uniquely pink color their breast cancer awareness nail polish color choice.  Essie has gotten on board as well.  Almost as cute as the colors are the names(from left to right): Pink Shatter, Raise Awareness, I Think in Pink, and Pink of Hearts. I also have the greatest crystal nail polish on earth that just so happens to be for BC awareness as well!

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 8

Target has NINE different breast cancer locks in stores right now!  With so many options to choose from - number combination, letter combination, locks with a key, size, price, etc - it was extremely hard to choose but I went with the following:

I by no means need a lock but I did need a breast cancer lock.

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 7

So my dentist is amazing.  He has figured out the issue behind my cavity-fest.  Every year I usually get 4-6 cavities but yet I am an avid brusher.  I love a clean mouth!  One thing the dentist asked me to avoid was soda.  I really don't drink much but sometimes a teacher needs a Diet Coke to get through the day.  Now you might be wondering how this all fits into breast cancer awareness.  Well I only drink water now and because of that I have expanded my collection of water bottles.  I drove to Lake Powell today and had to have two water cups with me so when one ran out, I was fully prepared.  So with all of this, I busted out my BC Brita. I usually keep this one on display because it is so cute but now it must be utilized.

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 6

The Second Annual General Conference Priesthood Cemetery Session.  Grammy died during the priesthood session of conference and last year we sat at her grave and told stories and looked at pictures of her life.  This year was part two.  It was wonderful and freezing.

Momma took this picture of Nikki, Jen (and Alice), Cousin, Auntie, and me at the cemetery
Auntie Rose telling stories about her mom
What a great day.

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 5

This is an example of some of the weird items that come in what I call a "breast cancer version."

This is a glasses kit.  Comes with a cleaning spray that says "Think Pink Lens Cleaner," a pink cleaning rag, and a little tiny pink screw driver.  Adorable and darling but very practical.

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 4

As a teacher, I absolutely LOVE office supplies.  Even more so, I love BC office supplies.  I have a plethora of office supplies at school - to come later - but these are some "staples" of my home supplies.

BC stapler that my momma got for me

I have about 309,917 different BC notepads/post it sets

BC envelopes where the inside is actually teeny tiny pink ribbons

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 3

Nothing better than breast cancer accessories.  These are my two BC accessories for today:

I got the watch online at The Breast Cancer Site.  They have lots of watches there right now, here are two: slap bracelet watch or the stainless steel watch.  I got the pin at Cherry Lane Boutique in the Provo.

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 2

Today is in the top three best/worst days of the October holiday season.  My sweet Grammy passed away two years ago today.  Whenever people lose their loved ones it is crazy amounts of hard but even with that day being hard it was still so amazing. I think about her every single day, I really think about her during October, and especially today she has been on my mind.  My BC item for the day is the ribbon I made to wear at my grandmother's funeral.  I wear a ribbon every day in October but this one is my favorite and by far the most special.

BREAST CANCER MONTH: DAY 1

Welcome to October, also known as the best month of the year.  Everyday this month I am going to showcase some piece of Breast Cancer paraphernalia that I have.  Some are weird.  Some are very special.  Some are classy.  Day 1 BC item: Rubber Ducky

I love my BC rubbery ducky.  There is a little button on the bottom that makes the whole thing light up in different colors - adorable.  I have about five of these Rubber Duckies.  It used to be six but my first year teaching I had one on my desk and the very first time I ever had a substitute teacher a student stole it off my desk. When I got back and saw that it was stolen I was heartbroken.  However, a group of students made pink signs saying "lost ducky" and put them all over the school. It was so kind and so darling.  I did not get my rubber ducky back but I did find out his fate - a student has stored it in their locker and then threw it away when they thought they might get into trouble for it.  Stupid kids.  Stupid cancer too.
